Set Field Defaults

I would like certain tags and fields to have default values. There are times where I have to enter in a large number of articles for which certain fields could have a number of different values, but 90% of the time will be a specific value. It would save time if the most common value could be set as the default value.
 
In general, user defined defaults would be a huge boon. Font sizes, expanded vs. collapsed sections, and field values are all examples of how greater user control would be helpful. I'm hoping some of this will fall into the "little things we're working on along with the big projects".
