Selecting which side of a double weapon to attack with

I have a character who uses a kusarigama. At least for the time being, he does not have Two-Weapon Fighting and will not be fighting as though using two weapons. Is there a way to select which part of the weapon he attacks with when treating it as a normal two-handed weapon? I'd obviously much rather be attacking for 1d6+(1.5xStr) than 1d3+(1.5xStr) and as far as I can tell there's no rule saying you have to attack with your main hand when making a single attack.
