Sable Company Marine: Class Link Required

So I am playing through the Crimson Throne path as a Ranger and can finally use my Hippogriff as a Sable Company Marine.

On the my PC I have no alerts that something is wrong, but on the Hippogriff I have two alerts and that red Triangle in the top right annoys me, even though i can figure it out on paper, (the OCD kicks in) the Red Triangle must go!

The warning are as follows:
Sable Company Marine: Class Link Required
Hippogriff Master: Monstrous Mount Required

Hero Lab is up to date, and I cannot figure out how to get the link to work or find the Monstrous Mount feat I get at 2nd level automatically for selecting Sable company.

Any help would be appreciated.

I made that archetype a LONG LONG time ago and LW intergrated it. Meaning things like the new Monstrous Mount feats didn't exist. I would assume this archetype was never updated is all to account for the new logic. Report it as a bug to be fixed.

General Hero Lab Support & Community Resources is a sticky thread at top of Forum where you request official support for issues. A bug is ANYTHING you think is not working correctly. Weather you know for a fact or are just wondering if it is wrong. Report it using the above links to get an official response from Lone Wolf. :)
 
Actually, Sable Company Marine was reprinted a year or two ago, so we updated the original version, which was based on a web extra to the new book's version. And the new book's version uses a feat from that new book (Monstrous Mount). So, without owning that other book, you can only use the Sable Company Marine if you do not take an animal companion.

What?

So I picked the Inner sea combat book which gave me the Monstrous mount feat which moved the Alert from the Animal Companion back to the PC.
(Hopefully I bought the right book)

No it says
Monstrous Mount: Hunter's bond( Animal Companion) or mount class feature required.

but since I picked the Sable company Archetype the hunters bond option is not available. So what am I doing wrong now?

I figured out the Sable company Link BTW
 
Samutar I think you are trying to select the feat from the normal feat list.

They are allowed to take (not get) that feat as a bonus feat at level 2 (ignoring the pre-requisite).

So to get it to work.

1. Create a new Ranger
2. Add the Archetype
3. Become level 2
4. Go to the ranger tab
5. Select "add more bonus feats"
6. Select "Monstrous Mount" as the bonus feat

Edit: Meet Bla in the attachment set up to be correct and working

So I did what you said but the feat does not appear under the bonus feat list.

I'm playing Crimson throne and I do have that item checked under the config hero part? but when I open the profile you gave me it appears everytime
 
Could you add your portfolio I will take a quick look at the portfolio to see what might be wrong

Opening your portfolio does show the "Monstrous Mount" in the list. That said you currently don't have a spare bonus feat to pick it with.

However I see you also have the feat "Sable Company Marine". Allowing you to use the Animal Companion bond to bond with a hippogriff. So when you normally would choose an animal companion bond you are allowed to choose a hippogriff already. (but this archetype normally doesn't get the bond so things slighly go wonky because of it I guess)

Meaning in all honesty you don't need the Monstrous mount feat, because you already qualify for it (and get one).

So currently my best way of "tricking" the system would be to:
Add the feat Monstrous Mount to yourself
Adjust -> Other adjustment -> Add new -> Feat, bonus -> Monstrous Mount
Adjust -> Other adjustment -> Add new -> Feat Allowed -> Set to 1

I would recommend putting in a bug report for the "Sable Company Marine" feat. Seeing this feat should allow the hippogriff (and give one) already (Event without the Monstrous mount feat). That said I did add an updated portfolio with how I would do it currently.

Ps. While messing with the portfolio I did alter your skill rank in fly by one and the bonus ability score on the hippgriff. Sorry for that, was for testing stuff while messing with it.

Ps2. That said normally this feat isn't really used/allowed anymore (house rules left there of course). It is a left over from before this archetype was introduced

So I think I just figured it out. I just bought the licenses for Ultimate Campaign and Advanced Class Guide as well as a few others and it now shows up in my portfolio.

Whats worst is that I could of been using the Hippogriff since lvl 2 now I will have to wait till lvl 6 before i get to use him.
 
So I'm running into the same issues as Samutar but I don't own the Inner Sea Combat package. Can I still make the Sable Company Marine archetype work with just the Curse of the Crimson Throne included?
 
I would assume you won't be able to. Seeing you are missing the feat that the archetype relies on. That feat is only supplied in inner sea combat.
 
The sable company marine is still a valid archetype without that book, but without that book, you're not allowed to take the animal companion option. You have to take hunting companions as your 4th level ranger ability.
