Rippers: reason is calculated incorrectly?

I've noticed that, in HL, Reason is calculated as: -2 plus half Spirit.

Is this wrong or is there a new rule about it somewhere?

In the Rippers rule book, it says that reason starts at 0 and then increases by 1 each time you improve your spirit die.

So, if the rule book is the correct version, can that get fixed? or if it's not correct, can someone point me to the new rule?

Cheers.

If you notice the final score is correct. Zero for a d4 1 for a d6 2 for a d8 3 for a d10 4 for a d12.

It's calculated that way to get the number you need.

Ah, sorry. I was under the impression that, at the start of the game, your Reason is 0 no matter what your Spirit die is. Looks like I just read the rules wrong.

Thanks for that.
