Reusing Abreviations

I created a couple of classes, but decided I needed to redo them completely from the ground up.

I deleted them from the data file, but when I recreated them with the same abbreviation, I get the message that now deleted abbreviation is still in use even though the class is deleted.

Changing the abbreviation is not an acceptable option.

So how do I remove the abbreviation from Hero Lab so I can reuse it?
 
have you saved the data set and exited the editer. then restarted(cntr+r) HL sometimes changes don't propagated until you do that.

edit make sure you've deleted the class from both the class tab and the class level tab as well. tested it and this seemed to free up the abbreviation.

That seems to have worked. I can use the abbreviation.

I had this issue before, but I still can't use the abbreviation. Apparently, I can't remember which data file I made the offending class in.
