Removing the familiar

I'd like to add a prestige class ability that remove familiar and other companion from a hero if his existing class give him that benefit.

Can it be done and if so, how?

Yes. I did this with Arcane Heirophant from Races of the Wild. This is the script I used:

Pre-Levels/1000

~ Remove Arcane Familiar

foreach pick in hero from BaseClHelp where "FavTaken.?"

 eachpick.field[cArcFStart].value -= 1

nexteach
