Relationship Type

I can customize the “relationship qualifier” but I can’t find a way to customize the “relationship type”. Am I missing something?

I’d like to add some additional choices to the relationship list that currently includes Arbitrary, Simple, Union… I’m currently using Simple for almost everything.

What exactly are you trying to model in your world? It could very well be that Simple is the correct response in most cases. "Simple" just means it's a point to point connection between two topics. That covers a lot of ground!

Simple - Point to point direct connection. Generally the common relationship in use. Can only link together Topics and Articles.
Arbitrary - Point to point direct connection. Can link together additional content types, such as user notes and journals.
Union - Defines a union between two people/entities, usually a marriage. Specifically used in the future for layout behavior in the relationship view when showing family trees.
Ancestor/Offspring - Defines a biological lineage between two people/entites. Specifically used in the future for layout behavior in the relationship view when showing family trees.
Comprises/Belongs - Used for defining sets and subsets of things, as well as membership in those sets. Similar to Containers but allows multiple containers. May be used for venn diagram or other visualizations in the future.
Attitudes - Used for attitudes between people/entities. Shows a special overlay and transition pane visualization.

In general, Relationship Types govern actual different interface behavior, while qualifiers are a way for you to specify more in-universe flavor.

I’m doing a very large fantasy town and want to cross reference a lot of things such as business type, guild, organization ties, deity ties, etc. This will allow me to see the location of all armor smiths or all members of the Metal Workers Guild. I may be able to accomplish part of this through tags sorts but until that is active and we know how that will work, this was my best solution. Using the Simple relationship is working… it would be nice to have defined my own relationship types especially to have several different icons for quick reference instead of just the Simple icon.
