Re-Installing, again & again

Has anyone run into a problem where they install it (it was installed on drive D originally, then one update made it go to C, but then I put it back to D per request) and then everytime they open it, they have to re-install it?
Should it just be un-installed and re-installed?
Ran into this issue on a client's computer.

What do you mean when you say you "have to re-install it" every time they open it? What error message or report do you get from Hero Lab? You shouldn't need to uninstall it - the installer should just overwrite the old info with new stuff on a new install.

If this is happening on someone elses computer, can you verify that they're not just re-running the installer every time they want to launch the program? There should be a shortcut to Hero Lab on the desktop and in the start menu they can use without reinstalling it every time - we've run into this a few times in the past :)

Hope this helps!

basically everytime the herolab icon is clicked and the update 3.7 is installed, it works fine. then herolab is closed and next time it is clicked, the update is there waiting to be installed again....

What do you mean by "the update"? Do you mean that Hero Lab tells you that an update is available to version 3.7 even after you've installed it, or do you mean the installer launches again, or something else?

sorry, when I said 'the update', I did in fact mean the upgrade to 3.7. It gets installed fine, and then it works fine.
close down hero-lab. restart herolab and the 3.7 upgrade is waiting to be installed, again. so, each time it gets restarted, you have to run the installer again.
I will mention that I noticed that while it is installing to the D location, one part of the installer mentioned something going to the C drive (data packs I believe, I took a break last night) and I even tried installing it to the C drive afterwards. each time, license fine, update to 3.7 fine.... restart. oh look, there is update 3.7 again to install regardless of where it is being installed.

this is on a windows 7, 32 bit computer btw.

Fixed

Ok... after looking things over, I figured out how to fix it.
It was actually being installed to 3 different places. The default was C:\HeroLab\HeroLab (created by the program itself on windows 7), then there was a installation in C:\Program Data\HeroLab, and the one my client wanted which was D:\Herolab.
I deleted the self-created (by the update to 3.7) folder and installed to C:\Program Data, and get it working and then moved the data over to the D location and switched fixed the icon so it went to the correct place.
A pain in the butt... but at least it's working.
I'm not sure that the self-creating C:\HeroLab is a good idea, it auto does that no matter what it seems on windows 7, that's where it downloads the info to upgrade to 3.7 and it stays after the installation.
Thanks,
Corwyn
