Can a veteran sergeant in a Ravenwing army take the 'Stubborn' upgrade?
I.e., can you be in both the Ravenwing and Deathwing?

Yes - *any* DA Vet Sgt can be 'stubborn' for 5pts (DA Codex, page 9, grey
box)

I don't see anything in C: DA that says that they can't, Colin. However, as
Stubborn says that they may not voluntarily fall back from close combat, I
would say no, as this specifically contradicts the function of the Ravenwing
and would lead them into situations similar (in concept) to the Intractible
rule, which doesn't apply to RW...

Other DA players, such as Jimi, may wish to expand or rebut this, however...

If it uses the word "always", you may not always be able to <smirk>

Well, the rules say yes, logic and fluff say no.

But the rules are what counts.

One day they will make the rules fit the fluff (or rewrite the fluff
to fit the rules!).

A strict reading of the codex p9.
"Some Space Marine Squads include an option for being led by a veteran
Sergeant." (Ravenwing squads have this option).

"Important Note: Dark Angels Veteran Sergeants may have been inducted into
the Deathwing and can be *stubborn* at an additional cost of +5 points."
