Question regarding released files

So now that Rite Publishing (who I code for) is releasing files through Lone Wolf. What do I have to do to continue editing those files since now I get duplicate errors if I have the user files enabled? And is there a more private route I should be talking to LW about this?

Thanks,
Andrew

You may want to go a more private discussion. I think what I had to do with the FGG stuff was you can "disable" a individual license/package and then those "Things" won't be loaded by HL. So then you can use the .user files again as you won't hit the duplicate Thing errors.

I am just not sure I am suppose to share how to disable a individual package. Its really not hard to do. But I think that is something that should come from Colen or Mathias actually.

When I was doing contractor work, I would create the user file and submit it. Once the file was accepted, and the next release was finished, I'd get the duplication errors and just move my user file out of the folder. Not hard at all.

Yes but going forward LW maintained the source. In the case of the 3PP they maintain the source not LW. So Andrew needs to be able to do updates to the .dat file to send the updates into LW. So he needs to disable the specific Rite Publishing packages so that he can do that work.

@Andrew if you don't need anything past the "CORE" stuff from HL then you can go to the "Develop" menu and one of the options is to "disable secondary packages" (not sure on exact wording). That will cause HL to load into CORE mode only with no packages.

Since I do this for Frog God Games, I can tell you that there are extra steps involved. It is not a matter of just disabling and such. There is a couple steps that LW originally thought were going to be automated, but are not. I will send you a PM Andrew since it a very specific situation that unless a 3PP is doing license through LW, would not come up for the average person.

There are a few other questions I have, but I probably should do it a little more direct. I'm just not sure who I should e-mail.

@ShadowChemosh for this I only need core, but for others I do need the APG due to archetypes.

I guess Colen would be the one to talk to. I'll ping him to PM you his e-mail if he likes.

Just shot you an IM also Andrew. I do not know all of the answers, but I have been handling the Frog God Games files for a while, and have run into a lot of learning curves that might can help you if you have questions.
