Question About PF Content Configuration

Diggy

New member
Hello! Thanks in advance for taking a moment to help me. I've owned Hero Lab with all the Pathfinder content for just a few days. It's great! I've also basically "forced" all of the players in my PF game to get this tool as well. It should make character management and even-at-the-table gameplay much smoother.

Which all leads to my question...

Is there a single file or set of files that I can share with members of my gaming group that will provide them with my default configuration "Hero Settings". I've set my defaults so they always appear in my version of Hero Lab but I want to ensure that my group is using the exact same settings when they create new characters in Hero Lab.

Hopefully that makes sense. I apologize if this answer is here in the forums and I've just overlooked it.

If you email them a saved character (even a blank one), they can open that character, then choose "Configure Hero" from the Character menu. Open that character's settings, and then click the "Set Defaults" button - that will set their default settings to the settings used on that character.

To build on what Mathias said I create Campaign Characters for my players. So I make a new .por file where I set all the settings I want for that campaign. This can include money, which books, pre-set equipment, and extra house rules like use Action Points or Hero Points.

So then I would name it something like "Campaign, We be Goblins.por" and send that to my players. Then when making goblin characters they open that .por file and start from all the correct settings.

So far seems to work pretty good and gets all the players using the same exact settings. :)
