hey guys

I want to have a unit that is called Optional Rules...that has
several Options. When selected, I want the selected option to be
chosen for every other unit in the list. I sthere an easy way of
doing this?

There is no way within AB to have an option within one unit cause any
direct effect within the context of any other top-level unit. Every
top-level unit is self-contained. The ONLY recourse you have is to define
validation rule that requires the user the select an option on all units,
and this would be a bit ugly (I think).

This is definitely something that is on the todo list for AB...

Sorry....

Hi Rob

Thanks a lot for your info. I didn't think there was. Do you want
me to post the suggestion to the ab-beta list as a feature for the
next version or is ot already considered on the list?

Thanks

Chris

It's already on the list, so there's no need to post it.

As for the response when posting your other question, I think the issue is
that AB-Files is not generally supposed to be used for posting. That's what
THIS forum is for. :-) There are a lot of folks who probably take exception
to AB-Files being used for discussions, even by data file authors, just
because it tends to set a bad precedent for others. So don't take it
personally. :-) I'd have commented on it myself if I had actually noticed
the forum you posted to (both groups - AB and ABFiles - go to the same
inbox for me).

Thanks, Rob

It's on the list and highly requested, but a lot of work to integrate. So
it's likely but not definite for a future update....

Thanks, Rob

Yes, I second that motion. I would desperately love to see wheel support,
if only in AB Construction Kit.
