Query about Hero Lab compatability

Will Hero Lab work with Linux at all? I'd like to possibly gift the program to a friend but he uses Linux, so obviously I'd like to know before purchasing anything if it will work with his computer.
 
The last that I heard, while it's not officially supported Hero Lab for Windows will work under WINE. Here's the most recent post I found on the subject.
 
You can use PlayonLinux to get it to work. Using regular wine should do it as well, but i prefer the GUI of using PoL. There are some idiosyncrasies that I'm currently looking into, but all in all, the program seems to run fine.
