Prof. Bonus adjustment does not work

I try to lower the proficiency bonus of a 16th level Paladin by 3. I choose and activate the adjustment but it changes nothing. Any ideas how to get this working?
 
Not sure how you are trying to make the adjustment. But going to the Adjustments tab, added an adjustment to Proficiency Bonus and setting the value to -3 works for me.
