Problem with Proficiency

Trying to convert DragonMech to Pathfinder in HeroLab. I have created a new weapon proficiency, Mech Weapon Proficiency, and I have it marked as a proficiency group but it is not showing up in other areas. I cannot mark the newly created weapons as part of the Mech Weapon Proficiency group. What am I missing? Any help is appreciated.

Weapon Proficiency (ie Simple, Martial, Exotic) is NOT something that can be changed in the editor. So no new ones can be added.

The new feat you created and marked as a "Proficiency Group" is the old way of doing special proficiencies for classes. So the "monk" use to be have a Proficiency Group feat that gave it access to its "special" list of monk weapons.

So you can do the same if you wish with the Proficiency Group feat you created and have it give out proficiency to your new weapons. I would advise making a mechanic and bootstrap the feat to it. Then source mark the mechanic to your Dragonage source. That way when someone turns on Dragonage they get this new Proficiency group feat.

You could also just special script logic to the mechanic to run that would give proficiency in the new weapons.

" I would advise making a mechanic and bootstrap the feat to it."

I am familiar with the editor but I'm not sure how to do this. What mechanic are you talking about? Any advice is appreciated.

Editor Tab "General->Mechanic". Blue button in top right corner lets you bootstrap.

Please note once you start using a mechanic 'Test Now!' does not work for it really. So you will need to do a 'CTRL-R' to restart HL instead.
