Problem downloading base Pathfinder game

Hi,

Wasn't sure where to post this, it isn't really a Pathfinder problem, but a HL problem in general, please move if needed.

I'm posting this for a friend. When he tries to download the pathfinder game from within hero lab, so that he can then purchase it, he repeatedly gets this message...

error downloading file from remote web server. This is probably due to a problem with the web-server. Please try again later

or one that says something about the download being interrupted before it could be finished, it says to get the game through some file?

Sorry I'm not very computer literate.

Thanks,

The other error message we get is this...

The download was cut off before it could be completed. Please try downloading the update again, or use the "go to file" button (where is this btw?) to retrieve the file manually. If this behavior continues you should notify the data file author about the problem.

How do I notify the data file author? This is the regular old default pathfinder no community content or anything.

Thanks again.

Try going to the Download page and download the file "Pathfinder Role-Playing Game" under the "Data Files for Games".

Once downloaded you should be able to simply double click on the .hl file and do the install of the Pathfinder game system.

Otherwise I have seen Firewalls, Antivirus, and Windows defender all block HL from doing downloads. I would check those out if the above downloads without issues.
