Problem adding Material to Magic Weapon

Kraupaul

Active member
Whenever I add a “Material” to a Magic Weapon created in the Editor, it changes the weapons listing on the portfolio weapons page to red. When I create the exact weapon under Magic, Custom & Masterwork Weapons it displays normally. Can someone tell me what I’m doing wrong?

I create in the editor a +1 long sword, which appears correctly when purchased by a character. When I add cold iron to it and update the name changes to red. Obviously this could be done without the editor but this is the simplest example. It is also happening with more complex magic.

Unfortunately, I'm not able to reproduce this. I'm assuming you are creating this weapon in the "Weapon, Magic" tab of the editor. I am also assuming that you are adding cold iron from the editor as well since I don't believe there is any way to edit magic weapons from the portfolio. Let me know if either of these assumptions are wrong.

Also, the name turning red usually indicates an error of some kind. What does the error message say? Incidentally, Cold Iron can only be applied to metal weapons, so if you don't have the weapon made of metal, that could be the error.

Well I finally figured out what was happening… although I’m not sure I understand it. I was checking “Contains Metal” in the editor. When I do that and add a special material the name appears in red on the portfolio.
