Probably something dumb I'm doing wrong

Hi Folks,

I'm trying to put a set of files together in ABCreator (that came with AB verion 3.4a), and so far most of it is going fine.
However - I'm having great difficulty getting the details on the View tab to behave, so any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I have all the stats I require to be included in the roster set up as Groups and each is flagged as 'visible'.
The same set of tags are used within the Unit Stat tab and are also linked together in the Statset tab.
These tags are all happily available to use within the View tab.

However, when I try to open the files within Army Builder I just recieve the message 'one or more non-visible tag groups are used'.

I do have one tag group which I set up initially which contained a name for the unit. If I have that (and only that) in my View, then AB will open fine - albiet the stats are displayed all on a single line when units are selected (from a previous forum entry I know this is down to the 'Identity' flag (but those are switched on as well....)).
If I add any of the tag groups that I actually do want to display then I get the error as indicated above.

I've had a hunt through ther forums and been through the manual, but to no avail and it's quietly driving me crazy as I can't spot where I've gone wrong.

Any and all help gratefully recieved.

Simon.

Do any of the tag groups you're using have the "Visible?" checkbox unchecked? Similarly, do any of the unit stats you're using have the "private stat" checkbox ticked?

I believe all tag groups in a view have to be flagged as visible, and the same restriction may exist for private unit stats as well.

If this doesn't help, try adding your tag groups one at a time, and compiling the data files after each one - when you start getting an error, it's going to be a problem with the group you just added.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply.

In the end, a bit more tinkering provided the answer - I'd got the tags set as being Global. As soon as this was unticked, the stats showed up as desired.

Thanks, Simon.
