Precocious (Companion Archetype) not working

I have a Divine Hunter with a horse as an animal companion. I selected the "Precocious" archetype for the companion, which is supposed to do the following:

"At 4th or 7th level, whenever the precocious companion would normally gain the choice of a listed score advancement or a +2 bonus to Dexterity and Constitution, it instead gains a +2 bonus to its Intelligence score and a +4 bonus to its Wisdom and Charisma scores.

This replaces the 4th- or 7th-level ability score advancement."

Except it doesn't. The only increases to Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma scores have come from the "Eye for Talent" human racial trait, the "Animal Domain" boost to companion abilities, and the standard leveling ability increase that I'm pretty sure is supposed to be the thing that this archetype replaces. I've made sure I have the archetype on both the animal companion and the animal master sheets, and I've double-checked that all the relevant licenses are active. I've also scaled the character up to level 20 just to make sure I wasn't misunderstanding when this was supposed to take effect.

Any thoughts on what I might be missing? Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Thanks!
