Before I go and do something stupid by messing around with my files, I wanted to know if there is a way to designate different folders to save stock portfolios in (as well as load from that folder). I would like to put both regular portfolios and stock portfolios in the same directory. The current setup is annoying. I want to be able to do this such that it doesn't screw up on HL downloads or HL settings. I didn't see an option in the file menus (alternate save folder perhaps, or is that only for regular portfolios?)

you can put the .por files in any folder. when you go to open them you just need to navigate to that folder to find them. i save all my .por files to folders based on the adventure.

unless i am not understanding the question.
 
I mean I want to reassign where the .stock portfolios are saved to and loaded from. Is that possible? I already knew I could change the .por files (and have), I just want to relocate the .stock files there too. Having to navigate from the My Documents folder to the Program Data folder just to make changes in the .stock files is kind of annoying.
 
.stock files that are in the correct directory will be included in the stock portfolios list that you can access though the Portfolio menu's Import Stock Hero option.
 
Hmmm... I might be missing something here. Now that you can import multiple heroes from a portfolio file, what's the advantage of having a stock file? They seem to essentially do the same thing if you just keep adding heroes into a portfolio file and name it appropriately. Or did I overlook something?
 
It's just to cut out a step - all the stock portfolios are listed within Hero Lab, without having to select the portfolio file through Windows' file interface before you can see what characters are in it.

It's also easier for us to put large sets of NPCs/Monsters in stock portfolios - the user doesn't have to know where the stock portfolios are, and doesn't even see them as files - they're just selections available in Hero Lab.
