point and click dice roller

is there any planes to give the hero labs dice rollers a point and click option?

lets take Legend of the Five Ring, if i want to use a kantana I'll have to click the agility trait and the kenjutsu skill and have it track and bonuses as they are easy to forget.

Since I don't know L5R very well, the example you provided was not helpful for me to understand what you're looking for. Please either provide more context on the L5R example or give me an example using another game system. I'm quite familiar with all the games that we currently have data files for, as well as the Cortex stuff, Shadowrun, and a bunch of others.

Jon, I think what you're asking about is covered to a large extent by the history functions (it's covered near the bottom of the Savage Worlds walkthrough) - that allows you to track the bonuses/penalties that apply to something. Or do you want something that can allow you to select one or more things on your character, sum them together and display the total, and then offer a button to generate a random number from their total?

Rob, I think Jon refers to the dice mechanic. Your attribute grants you a number of dice (A), the skill (S) as well. Your roll (A+S) dice, but only the A highest dice are counted.

Furthermore, L5R encourages to use your skills in different contexts, using different attributes. For fighting you might use Dexterity (?) as attribut and Kenjutsu as skill. The same character judging a sword would use Kenjutsu as well, but Insight (?) as attribute.

An optimum dice roller for L5R would allow you to click once on the attribute and once on the skill to define the roll and its evaluation.

what bomberg said not only that, adding or subtracting any bonuses or penalties that you're entitled to are also automated.

It sounds like L5R is in need of a different mechanic within the dice roller. I'll put this on the todo list for addition in a future release.

As for tallying it all automatically, the first step would be for someone to write the L5R data files. Once that was done, it would be relatively easy to develop a tab similar to the Rolls tab for the World of Darkness data files. With that in place, directly integrating to the dice roller would be similarly straight-forward. We've already got virtually everything in place internally, so all we'd need to add is a single scripting primitive to directly trigger the dice roller with the appropriate configuration. That's already on the todo list, but nobody has asked for it yet, so we haven't added it yet.
