Cannot seem to get this to work. Added a merchant, added map of said merchant. Clicked on green circle to share. Go to map and share, but cannot get the player view to show anything. Ideas?
 
When you say "added map of said merchant" you mean picture, I assume?

Anyhow,

Both the snippet containing the picture AND the topic as a whole must be revealed (the little orb must be green).

Now, the topic AND the snippet has been marked as "revealed to players".

Now, right click the picture and select "Show in player veiw".

Voilà.

It is done this way in order to ensure:

1: You can mark pieces of information (snippets) as revealed to players (they have learned this (perhaps without realizing it themselves)) without revealing anything.

2: When the players connect the dots you simply reveal the topic and all the snippets you marked during the last couple of sessions are also revealed - and the remainder are kept hidden.

3: You can not by accident reveal a picture or crucial information on player view by accident (such as "Breaking news: Clark Kent is Superman!"); it has to be revealed first.
