HELP!!

I have loaded army builder and pdfcanvas on a portable harddrive to use at work. They will not allow the instalation of software on their harddrives. Is there a way to use pdf canvas?? currently AB says i still have to download the pdf output module.

By default, the PDFCanvas DLL is installed beneath the Program Files directory on the computer. If you install it there, it won't exist when you take the portable drive to work. So you need to install the PDFCanvas DLL directly into the same location where AB itself is installed. If the file is there, AB should find it.

Alternately, you should be able to simply copy the file "pdfcanvas.dll" out of the installation directory and put it in the AB directory on the portable drive. By default, it's installed into the folder "c:\program files\pdfcanvas".

I tried droppign the pdf.dll file into the army builder folder, the root folder that army builder is in and dropping the entire pdfcanvas folder into the same locations...no luck...any more suggestions???
 
Hmm. In checking the code, we currently check for the "pdfcanvas.dll" file in the location it was expressly installed into. This is accomplished by storing the location within the Registry, which requires that the PDFCanvas component be formally installed on the computer where it will be used. So simply copying the file won't work. We'll change this for the next update.

I appreciate that. It makes it easy for me with my laptop currently down. I can just use my portable drive to handle it. Thanks. Any idea when the update will happen?? If i may make a suggestion and it works with the next code...enable the user to place the pdfcanvas installation in the army builder folder.
