Padawan learner looking for a Master...of HL

Just curious if someone had any connections to anyone who could help with converting some 3rd party material to HL or perhaps taking me under their wing teaching me the ropes of the editor in HL?

I am a contributor on d20pfsrd.com and have 2 documents trying to make their way into HL.

1# is a Monk Archetype based off of the Avatar bending - Element Master

2# is a bigger project based off of the savage species - but converted from pathfinder bestiary 1, 2 and 3 - Bestiary Levels

Any help/guidance/name of some one to give guidance would be amazing!
Thanks,
Zerziz

The easiest way to figure out how to do something in HL is to make a copy of a game element that is close to what your looking for and see how it is built.

BTW The Advanced Race Guide handles nonstandard races and allows you to build your own. Check it out.

Yeah, but it seems that the advanced race guide is still a bit different. I still like the Savage Species type break downs that allow you to play a dragon or Giant and advance it as you gain xp. I like the advanced race to make a starting race, but again if its a dragon then you still have a set starting level, vs it being a progression. Not sure if that makes sense.

In regard to the copy in hl, i have, but some of the things i'm trying i'm not even sure where to look in a copy for. (such as in the archtype of the monk, how to make a feat 'tree' dependant on the main element you select at 1st level) things like that.

Monster Class level mechanics where carried over from d20 when they made Pathfinder. In the editor look at the "Class, Monster" tab which I am pretty sure was made for Savage Species levels.

I assume this mechanic still works but I have never tried it out and in this case there is nothing to copy from. So you will have to do some trial and error to get it to work right.

My advice is to break this down in to VERY small steps. Just take the first thing you need like a Archetype for a Monk. Then worry about just the first ability.

If you need to ask a question make it about ONE ability you are trying to implement. As you learn you will see you will get faster at finding the information you need. Asking how to do the WHOLE class as a single question will not get you real far here. But if you ask for help with just one ability at a time you will get more help.

Be sure to read Question#2 in the FAQ about learning the editor.

I figured out that while experimenting with stating out vehicles as "creatures." Mainly working on airships. I did as suggested when creating the Vehicle Traits Racial Special Ability. I am tying HP to the Str stat, which I am tying to size, as normal, and hull material. I used the Undead Traits ability to figure that out.
