Output Rendering: Spells & Powers cut off; Long Skill and Gear lists not contiguous
Hi,
I recently noticed that if the Spells & Powers section of a Standard Character Sheet Dossier appears at the bottom of the first column in a Print Preview, printout, or PDF, and the Spells & Powers section is longer than the remaining space available in that column, then the section is cut off rather than continued in, or moved to, the next column.
I first noticed this with a high level Wizard character. With all the skills, gear, charges, etc. the character sheet has reached three pages in length, and the spells memorized list would probably require about 20 lines, yet only about 2/3 fit... in fact, the final line that does appear in the output only partially fits in the print out or PDF and that line is cut off such that only the top portion of the line is visible (i.e. you can see the 10-20% of the line... I didn't notice the partial line behavior during print preview rendering).
I've also noticed some "quirky" behavior for very long Skill and Gear sections... the overall output is correct, but when those sections continue into another column, the sections are not always contiguous. In other words, the split section starts in one column, then another section might start in the next column before the continuation of the previous section is complete.
I noticed this in the same high level Wizard character. When the functionality became available, I selected a Gallery portrait for the Wizard, and that appears at the top of the second column on the first page, followed by the skill list. This character has put at least one point in all the available Knowledge Skills, resulting in a very long skill list (especially since default skills with no ranks are included in the output), and the complete skill list no longer fits in the remainder of the second column. The character has also accumulated a large gear list (potions, scrolls, wands and whatnot) that exceeds the length of the first column on the second page. Thus the order of the output is as follows.
First Page, Column 1:
-Stats, Saves, Armor & Attacks
First Page, Column 2:
-Gallery (single portrait), Skills (beginning)
Second Page, Column 1:
-Gear (beginning)
Second Page, Column 2:
-Experience & Wealth. Gear (remainder), Skills (remainder), Feats, Traits & Flaws, Special Abilities, Charges (beginning)
Third Page, Column 1:
-Charges (remainder), Languages, Spells & Powers (cut off as described above)
Third Page, Column 2:
-Companions
The layout is not flawed per se, but learning where to find the remainder of the skills did take some getting used to. My preference would be to have the skills and gear lists immediately continued into the very next column (like charges did) rather than split out later in the output as rendered in V3.0 #170.
I can provide sample files if needed (note the character described above does have several non-SRD items, feats, and spells).
Thanks
