Options for making ".pkg like" files

I know the pkg format is LW proprietary, but is there a way to make .pkg like files that HL can read? That is a single file that contains all the data for a particular product.
 
Simply put no. Only if its distributed by LW can it be encrypted in a .pkg file. I assume your asking to try and make a file that people could use but could not open and mess with correct?
 
Yep. This is for one of the companies I am doing paid work for that doesn't sell their stuff through LW.
