Not able to sync

Hi,

I haven't been able to sync the past two, possibly three days. I keep getting a -500 error. Anyone have information on this?

thanks

Okay, I submitted a bug report.

No one else is having the -500 error when they try to sync? I was hoping it was maybe something the next patch would fix and not endemic to my realm.

You may wish to check out THIS post that Rob did recently. You "could" be in the same situation as Bodrin. :(

So a support ticket is your best bet. :)

I had a problem syncing one of my realms today when i loaded the update to my laptop. I deleted my local content... no joy. Then I went into my windows profile under my roaming folder and pretty much removed everything in the realmworks folder and then i fired up Realm Works and logged back in and was able to sync I don't know if it will help you or not but its worth looking into.

My problem is I've done a significant amount of work since my last sync, so I don't want to risk losing any local data.

Ouch Have you made a back up of your database? if so you should be able to follow the steps i outlined and then try to reimport your back up and try to sync up.

Thanks, Dervish. I'll give that a try.

Is it just as simple as copying the contents of the Realmworks folder (i.e. MASTER.REALM) to a different location first, or do I need to do some sort of export from within the program itself?

If you're getting a -500 error when trying to sync, it's highly unlikely that performing a backup and restoring will correct the problem. You definitely need to open a support ticket. Once that's done, we can work to figure out what's going wrong and see about getting it corrected for you. Sometimes, it's pretty easy to sort out. Other times, like the situation with Bodrin and myself described in the linked thread above, it's a lot more complicated. But we have no way to determine that until you open a support ticket. :)

Hopefully, it's something relatively simple and we can sort it out for you without too much delay...

After I upgraded everything was fine on my desktop.

When I upgraded my laptop and tried to sync I got a long complicated error. I simply removed the local data and synced from scratch and everything worked fine.

Should I be reporting those types of things, Rob?
