No one ever thinks about familiars

I know there is a place to name and select a type of familiar, but why not have a tab that is the familiar. One that allows you to level the familiar as your hero levels.

Familiars, animal companions, and humuncoli are just as much a part of the character as Hit Points, and Skills.

Actually, we HAVE thought about familiars. :-) The stuff you suggest has been considered and is planned to be added. However, none of that stuff makes sense until we actually have all the animal and monster material added, which is one of the four things currently missing from the SRD. That's why it's currently missing.

Faimiliar implementation question?

When you put familiars into HL will that include companions and mounts. For all three it would be very handy to be able to assign them equipment and magic items. Have the magic items that they are wearing modify their stats.
Essentially making a mini character sheet for the familiars, companions, mounts and maybe a in play option for them also.

Thank you,
Scott

Initially, familiars are being handled very simply. Specifically, pick one and it's added as a static thing. However, Hero Lab HAS been designed so that we CAN implement familiars, companions, and mounts as their own "mini-characters". This just isn't something that is currently implemented in the data files, and there are other features that we've got slated to be added before we get to that. But it is definitely planned, and the engine already fully supports it, so it's a just matter of adding it to the data files at this point.
