Next D20 update?

I was wondering when the next update to the D20 data sets were going to be released. I know Pathfinder takes the priority as it's a live system and that D20 isn't supported by WotC anymore but I for one would like to know that my D20 license isn't dead, especially after seeing what is achievable in the Pathfinder version of the program. It would be great if we got the combat modifier adjustments at the very least!
Just a polite enquiry.

On a similar subject will the SRD Epic level rules ever be implemented?. I have nine players at 17th lvl within 2 modules of a campaign conclusion. If HL was able to account for 21st lvl and above it would be a great help.

I have no comment on the "combat modifiers" mentioned in the first post of this thread BUT I do have an interest in this one.

My fellow players and I are in a campaign designed to take us to 20th level and I know the DM is just chomping at the bit for us to get there so he can have us adventure on & finally see the Epic rules in action.

So, I second the request for the incorporation of Epic Levels, Feats, etc. :-)

For my part, I would also like to see an update to d20. Preferably one that isn't just a few bug fixes. My number 1 request at the moment would be creating the spell like ability mechanics that pathfinder has. Second would be configureables. Type/Subtype ranks a distant third because of all the work the community files have put in to simulate it already.

Continuing the requests: one of the other threads had mentioned a selection box system for deities, possibly coupled with an editor section for detailing what deities are available, what their prefered weapon is, and what domains they provide their clerics.

Hmm, would it be possible to have the standard character sheet printout include the tables for a cleric or paladin, with their respective stat & item bonuses figured in, that show the max Hit Dice affected & how many Hit Dice worth of undead would be turned for a given d20 roll?

Pretty please, with sugar on top. :D

Sorry to bother you!

Again I know Pathfinder is taking precedent but is there any news on the next D20 update?

Do you mean user created content files of 3.5 materials?

We just did a 3.5 update of the user files like 2 weeks ago, and I dont think Wizards is making any more 3.5 materials.

People want bug splats and other features added through the official channels. Thats what this post is about.

Wasn't there actually supposed to be a Hero Lab update itself in March? That's what I'm waiting for. But some official d20 stuff would be nice to, no reason to sell it as one of their downloadables, and still count it as a "choice" of system, if they aren't going to support it regularly. They seem way too Pathfinder/Shadowrun focused, IMHO.

They have official licenses for Pathfinder and Shadowrun, but not for d20/3.5

I'm fairly sure that my license for the D20 system is official and under the terms of the OGL license anybody can produce content to support D20 3.5 as long as product identity is not used, however if Wizards of the Coast revokes the license to use the OGL content then that would mean that Paizo would have to stop producing Pathfinder too!

After all that's OGL, and also fully compatible with the 3.5 OGL system!

If Hero Lab were to lose it's license to the D20 stuff then I'd want it to be transferred to another system, but it would be moot as I have the PFRpg data files!

The question is when will an update to the core D20 system be implemented not community user files data!

Wont happen. Only the source books for d20 3.5 are allowed to be done. If LW gets a license with Wizards for something larger then we might see some more source books put in. but d20 3.5 is a dead system. wizards isnt maiking any more boosk for it. so everything from here on out is up to the user community to create.

The point isn't what WotC is doing, or whether the system is being supported or not. This is about Lone Wolf having the system as a choice to buy, and not supporting it themselves. It's not about new content, but getting the content that was in print put so that it works properly, and allows those who want to buy that system to get what they paid for, the d20 system as it was when WotC moved on to 4E. Otherwise, if Lone Wolf doesn't intend to support that system, it shouldn't be included as one that can be bought from the company for use with HL. That was my point.

Still, even unsupported, best editor on the market by far. But a precedence could be set here, once a system is off the market, it becomes unsupported by Lone Wolf's Hero Lab software, and those that bought it without it being completely updated to the current working set are left holding the bag. While I have enough coding experience to get HL to do just about anything that's left out, there is also too many encapsulated modules that I can't modify to fix the problems that are present, and those need to be resolved rather than ignored. No real complaints, just an observation of the current state of support. My two pennies worth.

That's the whole point. At the moment the D20 side of HL is lagging behind the functionality of the PF side, I'm not concerned about any other books that aren't open content, I'm more concerned about the SRD related stuff not being updated or added to. Epic level, Savage Species, Monster Manual.

Heck Unearthed arcana was an option from the very start!

As a community we are all pulling together getting the non OGL stuff entered into this "Dead system!" I'd just like the core data to be updated with newer macros and options within both sides of the editor!
My threpence worth!

Not to mention the OGL stuff from the Monster Manual 1 (nearly done now). I just want the ability to easily add some things that Pathfinder already does very well, like spell like abilities, deities, and the ability for general specials to have drop-down selectors (currently only available for feats).

The Racial Types and Subtypes are basically done now in the Community files. And I have ideas on how to make adding extra Hit Dice to Monsters easy (by adding scripts to each Type special that detects the addition of either a class level or an adjustment and modifies the fields on the currently selected race).

Here here, seconded!

I've actually gotten most of this implemented. My main problem is the skills, I need the skills of the base creature to carry over into its extra Hit Dice. Haven't been able to get this working yet, but I haven't given up on it. Finding time to set aside to do the work on that aspect has been in short supply lately.
