New to Hero Lab - Failed miserably..

Hi,

Thought I'd finally get this app and try it out for this weekends event.

Bought and downloaded Hero Lab with Pathfinder package.

Apparently Hero Lab is using a license scheme that is not very reliable!

Followed the wizard for install and activate license and received a message of successful activation and that I was to restart the app to start using my licensed copy.

No luck - still unlicensed and have limitations (like can't save, so that I have no real use of the app).

Tried this several times - no luck. Restarted computer - no luck. Tried manual download of license - no luck.

Anyone more experienced than I using this software that can tell me why I have such problems licensing the product?

You need to activate your license from within the program.

Load HL Pathfinder.
Look for the license menu.
Activate new license.
Follow instructions.

Restart HL.
Enjoy new functionality.

If / When you buy a new package you follow similar steps but use the Reactivate current license option instead

Anyone more experienced than I using this software that can tell me why I have such problems licensing the product?

Actually if you have done all that I would advise sending an email to support support@wolflair.com. Very little anyone on the forums can do to help in regards to license issues.

Normally the license stuff is simple, easy, and done in the one step listed in the email. Like Bodrin said when you buy more packages you do a simple re-activate your license and a few mouse clicks later are using the new books.
