new Skill that replace an existing one

Vrischika111

Well-known member
I just created a skill that replaces an existing one.
it works fine except for already created caracter.

I tried to reload game system, but the skills remains the old one.

is there a way to update an existing PJ ?

thx

Have you tried to delete the skill from the char and re-adding it? Although I think when you reload HL it should grab the new skill.

no I can't, let's say fly (skFly) : you cannot remove it from the list.
my new skill Fly (SKHFly, replacing skFly) does not replace it, even when reloading the game.

I know I can re-create my PC from scratch, but it's a pity you cannot use some of your "developments" in existing PCs.

(as english is not my native tongue, I'd just want to mention that is more a remarks than a complain/crying)

Thanks,

Stephane

On your replacement skill, you set the "Replaces thing id" field on the right-hand side, right?

Did you assign your new skill to a source? If so, have you made sure that the source is enabled on your existing characters? (If you did assign it to a source, I would recommend undoing that - the replacement happens before the source is checked, so if the source isn't enabled, the Fly skill will be gone).

What differences would you see if your new skill was replacing the old one? What are you seeing on your old character?
