New PFS Starter - looking for advice on MW weapon and Journal entries

First to Lone Wolf

I got the program today - and so far I'm pretty happy. Input of my first character worked very well. Finally I have my Captains Blade treat as well as my extra languages.
Having used a different (free and should stay unnamed) product before I really have to say that so far nearly everything was pretty intuitive.

2Questions (and I guess the first can be answered by every more veteran user - the second one asks for PFS users experience)

The one issue I didn't manage was to 'buy' a MW quarterstaff. I didn't see where to add MW as extra property to the quarterstaff. Where should I look - I guess it is simple once I have done it.

The second question regards Journals and mainly directed at other PFS players. I really like how they are build up. As my character is nearly 6th level with 14 chronicle sheets - what is the best way to backfill them.
Should I add money earned for each of them and then just buy the stuff as I did during the adventures. Is there a money spend button somewhere for chronicles and I just 'buy for free' ? I guess the journals are best once you are up to date - but that might take a little bit of work.
What about items I bought and later sold? For example I did have (for a limited time) a MW backpack from the Armoury - an add-on I don't (yet) have.
I don't want to waste a lot of effort now to find out later how other do it / how to do it with the least effort.

So all in all - very happy. I just need to find the time to fill it out with a year worth of gaming now - and I guess I have to do then the same for my wife and son ...

Welcome to the party!

For masterwork or custom gear, select the weapons tab, then click on the top option, where is says "New Magic, Custom, or Masterwork Weapons". A new panel will appear, from that you select "Custon / Magic Weapon" at the top, then click Add or Add and close button. From this you can can create just about any weapon you want. Something to remember here though is that after you create the item, you have to select the button "Set" in order to apply the cost. Otherwise the item will be free.

To spend gold, just put a miuns sign in front of the value you are spending, such as -100 would be used to spend 100 gold.

Hope this helps.

Hi Thod,
I'm still getting to grips with Hero Lab too. With an already experienced Pathfinder Society character I've found it is easiest to just put in the journal entries how much gold was gained from the scenario and then afterwards go back and buy and sell equipment. It takes a bit of time but you can be sure that it is all done properly.
