Neophyte iPad Hero Lab User...

I was hoping someone might be able to assist me. I just purchased Hero Lab 5e SRD and found I need the community pack to have all the backgrounds etc. In any case, I downloaded the community pack, and some things seem to be added, and yet it still only shows the "acolyte" background as it did before I installed the community pack. What am I missing? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You need to enable the various sources from the character configuration. Should be a whole heap of check boxes you can enable somewhere.

From the thread title, I think you're trying to do this all on an iPad. I just went and grabbed mine to make sure there wasn't anything special, and grabbed a couple of screenshots. I remember it was a fiddly process to get the community pack on the iPad, but once it's loaded it should all be available unlike on the PC version.

After you have selected the D&D SRD on the first page of the Hero Lab app, look for the updates button at the bottom

Then make sure your update page looks like the image below with the community pack available:

Also, if you haven't found this link yet, it's the official instructions on installing custom content on the iPad: https://www.wolflair.com/index.php?context=hero_lab&page=custom_content_on_the_ipad

Thanks

Thanks both for your responses. I had some time to poke around and discovered that the yellow checks it shows (which I thought meant it was installed) are actually buttons that allow you to selectively enable the particular source book or supplement. It is working fine now, and I appreciate your helpful responses.

Thanks!
