Named Monsters - Where do you place them?

I did a quick search for a relevant topic but didn't come up with anything.

Where are people putting topics for named monsters? Entities seems to be for higher powers but is probably the closest place for it. Individuals would seem to be the next best place.

I'm starting to do advance work on some significant encounters like dragons and such. The lair would be a location, the hoard would be an object collection probably and I'd link them to the monster's entry.

Thanks in advance!

For the most part, named monsters would be Individuals (select Race "Other" and add the specific type to the annotation). For me, the specific details are in the HeroLab portfolio, so I only enter the data needed for story and relationships in the Individual topic.

At least, that's how I'm doing it.

I expect that generic monster entries would go into the Mechanics section. I am not entering anything there at the moment, as I expect to someday see data sets for at least some of those from the publishers.

Named monsters as individuals is how I do it, too.

For generic monster types, to be honest I just set them up as individuals as well, although you might generally keep them in the World Almanac instead of Story, but that way they are easy to copy/duplicate out and/or over for inserting into plots or as named versions of them or wherever you need them. If you put them into Mechanics I'm not so sure you can copy them over as easily.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input. I do currently have a bestiary shaping up in my mechanics area for the actual monster definitions.

You bet. As I mentioned I'm not all that fond of putting it into Mechanics just because it's not as easy to duplicate it out into either the World or Story Almanacs, so you may want to take a closer look at that part. There might be a way, mind you, I just don't remember seeing it off the top of my head.

Thanks. As yet, there's no stat block or anything. Mostly going to rules sources, doing a bulk copy/paste and dropping it into a record. Because of that, not really worrying about copying it yet. I probably should start thinking ahead on that tho :)
