M&M 3rd ed. Mulit Effect vs Linked Effect

Hey Folks,

So I searched but came up empty. In Hero Lab could somebody explain to me the difference between Multiple Effects and Linked Effects. They seem to be the same exact thing to me.

Thanks!!

By the rules, Linked Effects must have the same range, and always fire off at the same time with the same action, which is the longest action of all involved. Multiple effects is just a way to group multiple effects in one place, which must be invoked separately (although often, they're a Free action).

So Linked Effects is generally used for something like a lightning bolt that deafens the target (linked Ranged Damage and Ranged Affliction). Multiple Effects is generally used for things like Superman's Kryptonian powers including Protection, Immunity to Environmental Effects, and Super-Senses.
