Monster Creation and Advancement

I haven't been able to find the answer to this in the docs or the forums or by playing around for several days now and I'm feeling kinda dumb. I'm trying to create an "advanced" zombie. Normally, I would expect to create a base creature (in this case a goblin), add some HD, apply the zombie template and presto. However, I can't figure out the "add some hit dice" part. What am I missing? Please help the dumb kid...

On the add class levels screen, click to add the Zombie Template then the Advanced Creature template, then the Extra HD.
They should all be available in that one class selection list!

Looks like the Additional HD and Size Increase templates are only available for creatures with racial hit dice. Goblin doesn't have racial HD. Interesting enough I don't see them in the editor under the templates either so I don't know where those options are to determine why they are not always visible. I don't know if that is a bug or not as I don't know the official rules for adding HD to creatures without racial HD.

If I were you I would copy the zombie template in the editor and make a new one Zombie, Tough and include any buffs you want the tough zombie to have.

Alternatively you can you the Advanced Creature simple template. It wouldn't give and HD but it would make them stronger by booting its stats and AC.

Ahhhhhh. Okay. I was looking for Additional HD as a selection, figuring that it would be grayed out if it weren't a valid option...

Thanks much!

Does this then mean that there's an issue with the implementation of the Zombie template as it will not allow Class levels?
