missing portfolios

i just purchased the data set for knights of the inner sea and ultimate equipment. now when I go to import hero from portfolio, it go strait to the data sets. all the stock characters and mine have vanished. help

Please elaborate on what's gone wrong I'm sorry to say that I do not understand what you're saying has happened. Please describe everything in more detail, with steps I can take to reproduce the error you're having.
 
When I went to save a character in to the portfolios folder, it went strait in to the data sets for hero lab. Now when I go to portfolio tab and go to import hero from portfolio the portfolio file is empty. All characters that came with hero lab and the ones I created are gone.
 
You've checked the folder's name? Is it still taking you to the same folder as it used to?

Can you still use file..open portfolio to open those characters?
 
now everything in the character portfolio has been erased even the stock characters. also the portrait folder was empty. went to re-download hero images V1.4 it said file was already installed but nothing was showing in the folder.
 
In the tools menu...explore folders, visit each of those items, and write down the folder path that each one uses.

Compare that to however you're trying to open these missing items - are they the same folders?

How exactly are you trying to open these missing items? Please give me an exact set of steps to follow, and where in that process you're getting unexpected results.
