How would I add a Bladed Scarf to the list of choices for a Blackblade? The Kapeinia Dancer can use the scarf one handed and it's a slashing weaspon so it's a valid choice for a Blackblade but it doesn't show up as one. Is there a way to create a one handed Bladed Scaft (have done this) but get it to show up on the Blackblade drop down as a choice?

Thanks
Matthew

Actually it does not conform to the rules. Bladed Scarf is a two handed weapon, and a black blade must be a one handed weapon.

Class aside, the weapon is classified as a two handed weapon, thus not avaialble for the choice as per strict adherence to the rules. However if your GM has allowed it, then create a single handed version of it, and I think you will then be able to choose it. As long as it is created as a single handed slashing weapon, then it should be choosable.

Is the item you created showing up in the the equipment list in herolab?

Other way around it is, create a single handed slashing version as an exotic weapon, but grant yourself a free feat, then make it exotic weapon proficiency your version of the scarf.

Just make sure which idea your GM likes or supports.

You shouldn't have to mess with adding a free feat and such. If you create the one-handed weapon as a copy of the Scarf, Bladed thing, and then in the new one-handed item, set it to 'Count As Weapon...' Scarf, Bladed - then all proficiency and feats (like the free weapon focus feat, for instance) should work with the 'new' one-handed scarf.

Of course, the better option would be to figure out where the BladeBound is getting the restrictions for possible black blades, and alter it there - so you can use the default bladed scarf item, instead of a duplicate. I do feel this is a bug and should probably be reported via the proper bug reporting. It is, at the very least, inconsistent with other options in hero lab. Slashing Grace, for instance, does recognize the Bladed Scarf in the Kapenia Dancer's hand, as a one-handed slashing weapon, and offers it as an available target for the Slashing Grace feat.

Don't think its a bug, the class in question doesn't "treat the bladed scarf" as a one handed weapon, it "can use the bladed scarf one handed". by the language used, it is still classified as a two handed weapon, thus it cannot be a black blade, which "must be a one handed slashing weapon".

Case in point the bastard sword, if you have the exotic weapon proficieny for it,you "treat the bastard sword as a one handed slashign weapon", thus it can be a black blade.

My asumtion is, HL is conforming to the letter of the rules, but like all of us gamers, nothing wrong with a little house ruling to allow flavour.

My point was that different parts of the program treat is differently. My example of slashing grace, for instance.
