Mac updates consistently fail.

My user setup on my mac does not have 'super user' rights. When I try to apply an update on my mac for Hero Lab is that the update doesn't ask for the 'super user' password. It just goes ahead and tries to update assuming that it has the correct permissions.

This fails and I'm stuck reinstalling from scratch. This has the nasty side effect of using up one of my 'allowed' license moves with in the specified time limit.

I currently have some pending updates to Hero Lab but I'm afraid to apply them because the last update caused me to reinstall from scratch.

Are you able to change your settings so that you are asked for the admin password when the update runs?

I dont know the specifics about your setup, but if its your Mac you could assign yourself admin rights.

Well that was simple enough. New to the Mac so I got stuck on the idea of application asking for proper admin password during the install.

Upgrading my account to admin and then dropping back to a standard account worked just fine.
