Rob,
Rather than open a separate thread for all my queries, I will consolidate them here.
There are 7 of us in the group, myself and 6 players. I have been DM'ing this group since about 1990, so I use/created some tools to make my life easier. I created an OO spreadsheet for XP calculations, I use a small freeware notebook application for notes, and I use a competitor's version for a character/NPC generation/management.
I am over here because someone posted on the Paizo boards that you would be providing data files for the Pathfinder series of adventures, and rather than have to enter the data myself in my current character generator, it is well worth the money to use your generator if all the NPCs and data is included!
That said, this is what I am looking for in a character manager/data repository, from my DM perspective:
1- Will all the NPCs be included in your data files for the Pathfinder material, as well as the data from the Pathfinder users guide, and support articles from the books?
2- Will I be able to have multiple NPCs showing at the same time, ie. a different tab for each one in the application?
3- In the V1.2 announcement you say that the output sheet can be in HTML. Can I make my own version and export into that, ie. the output tokens are documented and available for personal sheets?
4- Can I separate "stat block" information and "spell list" information into two different HTML sheets and export them separately?
5- Is the ability there to apply all spells to the baddie, export to html, view in browser and as spells run out/are dispelled, the ability to quickly remove the spell, export and refresh browser?
My guys usually have a buffer/de-buffer, ie. a wizard/cleric who buffs the party just before battle and then casts dispel magic on the baddies. What I currently do is have the chargen up, with the spells applied to the baddie, and as 1 or more drop, I remove the spell applied, and then export it to my HTML and just refresh the browser session I have up, and *wham* new stats/ac/etc. This is priceless, especially as they are 18th level now, and in the last battle the guy they dispelled had 8 spells cast on him, and went from dang near invincible to a wimp!
#1 & #5 are deal breakers for me.
#2, I can always have multiple instances up and running (I *assume* this is correct by the pop-up that displays now, when I try).
#3 & #4 are nice to have, but I could always just export to your format and get used to it.
Please let me know, thanks!
