Locally Stored Default Unit Images

Dear reader,

As a data file author I'm wondering if it's possible to include images in a AB export file and reference the images locally from the "data files".

The problem I'm having is that the "urlroot" attribute of the structure element in the definition file has to be filled. If the images would be stored somewhere on the internet this would be something like "http://www.mydomain.com". The default images added to the unit's would then use a relative path and download the images from internet.

I would like to set the "urlroot" relative to the local directory where the "data files" where imported and then use relative paths to retrieve them locally.

Kind regards,

Dreamfish

Unfortunately there's no way to include unit images with data files; we want to avoid a situation where every time the user downloads an update, they also re-download all the images for a game, as that would be a big hit on our bandwidth. :(

Try dropbox; it's free!

Seriously though I know a guy who runs a website out of a dropbox public folder so I don't see the problem with hosting a few images there. Just make sure they're your images - that is, images you took of your minis that you painted, or have equivalent releases from the people who did to publicly display derivative works.
