Limit by type per 1000 points

Its all right there in the tlmt description....
tlmt:typT89-unit=9+9/1000@1000@max-msg=ub89

Untested, but this should give you 9 units of typT89 per 1000 point in your roster.

tlmt:typT89-unit=9+3/1000@1000@max-msg=ub89

This would give you 9 initial units, plus 3 per 1000 points over 1000pts. 12@2000 15@3000 etc....

Hi

Is it possible to limit by type per 1000 points? The following only
limits per army which isn't what I want to do:

tlmt:typT89-unit=9@max-msg=ub89

Yep - works a treat - thanks! I'm afraid some of the syntax in the
definitions is a little cryptic for me at the moment - I'm sure I'll get
used to it...

So can a similar thing be done with this? ulmt:categ=Rec-max@unit=1-msg=ga13

I'd like there to be 1 of this category per 1000pts rather than per army. I
just checked the syntax in AB Creator but there doesn't seem to be anything
to allow this...

Unfortunately ulmt doesn't allow you to specify a points limit (other than
a threshold after which the rule is applied), as you have already found
out; it looks like you'll need to use tlmt, I'm afraid.

I have a related question. Is there anyway to limit a
unit to 1 per 1000 but none in an army list of less
than 2000 pts? That means 0 for an army of less than
2000 pts, 2 for an army of 2000 to 2999 pts, 3 for an
army of 3000 to 3999 pts, etc. In Warmaster Daemon
Princes are limited in such a manner and I haven't
been able to model that in AB yet. Any suggestions?

Try this... since tlmt has a thereshold, it should work
tlmt:limitedtype-unit=0@max [limit the army overall to 0 units}
tlmt:limitedtype-unit=0@max+1/1000@2000-thresh=1999 {override the base rule @ 2000pts}
I haven't tried this, but it should work. I used 1999 as a threshold because the tlmt description says that the limit comes into effect when you exceed the threshold. This may not be necessary, you may be able to use 2000. If you get one too few units, set the 0@max to 1@max

I don't think this will work... both tlmt rules will be applied if the cost
is over 2000. The threshold won't 'kick in' and replace one of them.

I believe using the 'umax' unit external attribute would be better in this
instance, since it's only a single unit we're looking at. I think the
following rule:

umax:1u@1000-free=2-min=2000

Should work. In fact I just tested it and it does. Victory!
