License Duration

I understand that the license on a copy of Hero Lab runs for only a limited time. How will we find out when it has expired (or has, say, a month to go before expiring), and what will we be able to do when it does?

Actually, Hero Lab does NOT use an annual license extension model to obtain product enhancements. This is different from our Army Builder and Card Vault products, which DO use that model. The licensing model for Hero Lab is instead tied to the data files for each game system. So there is no expiration for HL licenses.

That being said, there was a bug on our server that I fixed a week or so ago, and it manifests within HL. The license expiration date returned by the server for inclusion in the keyfile was not properly handling this difference. Consequently, the "View License Info" option on the License menu is not showing things properly. Instead, it's either going to show an expiration date of one year from initial activation or a date way off in the future. Which it shows depends on when you last updated your keyfile. This will all be fixed in the V1.2d update due out next week.
