Legendary Intelligent item

I am working with the mythic rules to create a custom weapon.

the Intelligent ability can be taken multiple times and has very specific rules for what is gained for each level.

The item I am trying to create has 4 levels of Intelligent giving
Spell craft +10
Spell craft +10
Spell use x2 to gain improved invisibility 3/day and true strike 3/day
+12 Int +6 Wis

Hero lab only lets me take the intelligent ability once and doesn't do anything with it. I can add the intelligent property to it but the rule set that uses is different than the mythic rules.

I don't suppose Lone Wolf has any idea of when the intelligent item stuff will be implemented? I'm curious myself since I just acquired a legendary intelligent item in a game.

There are MANY things that have not been implemented yet. Some have been around for years and nothing is ever done about them. I think "This ability has not been implemented yet" means it will never be implemented because it requires some work to get it to work. Most of the work is to produce the latest books for herolab because that is where the money comes from unless there is a major problem with an update. Until enough people complain nothing will ever change.

I'll just point out that we're making a concerted effort in recent months to cross off difficult issues which have lingered. For example, updating the purchase mechanics to reduce confusion last month and this month adding support for wild shape. I don't think it's fair to say anything which has not been done will never be done.

Really? LW has no large conspiracy to separate people from money and then never improve the software. In matter of fact looking back the last 5 years shows the EXACT 100% opposite then this approach. Not only do they fix but they are constantly putting "new" features in HL. The Encounter Builder and new Editor features where not "demands" from millions of people. But they added it anyways and they make the software better. I remember Intelligent item not being implemented at all. Now it is except for one book where Mythic makes special changes.

Just because the features being added or finalized are not the "exact" one you need does not mean it will not get done. Look at UC "kits". That took awhile to get in as it required changes to the HL engine and to the Pathfinder game system. Now not only does Pathfinder have this new feature called "auto-add" but all game systems have it also! Here is a plus for gamers in Shadowrun and M&M or there own "custom" game system. All added for "FREE".

LW is a small staff and this means only so much capacity. Honestly they get allot done and are constantly improving. At the end of the day all you can ask for is "did the software get better this release" if its "yes" it means they are doing a great job.

I also ran into this issue, but I simply solved it, at least in a temporary fashion until I get higher priority things out of the way. Add it, and just add the legendary powers as you would regular intelligent item powers. Nothing is specially limited by number of times you've taken the ability, but it will get you by I hope. Hopefully the attachment worked, if so, Merry Christmas. If not, it obviously is a sign that it wasn't meant to be.

Edit: Hopefully adding this as an attachment is acceptable/allowed.

Necroing this thread once again.

Still no word on implementing this?

I think the silence is your answer. If something is not implemented when it is released it almost never is implemented. The only things I know that were implemented after the books were released were Eldritch Heritage and Crossblooded Sorcerers.

I'd point at sythesist summoner and the various "multiple eidolon" archetypes, which were a major pain in my ass to implement. Also usually after a hardcover there may be updates of optional rules released in the following months (I'm thinking of the piecemeal armor, and wounds/vigor stuff from UC, and various parts of PU).

I don't think Dwayne's characterization of "almost never" is fair, but I will admit that if something has been left unimplemented this long most likely it is A) very hard for us to implement, and B) not in high demand. Combined that means it's given a pretty low priority, and tends to languish.

This would be nice to see implemented. I'm running a Mythic campaign and this issue has popped up for me as well.

Agreed: I have a mythic character with an intelligent legendary item that's not able to be created properly. :(

Well, hopefully soon/someday.

Keep up the good work, LWD!
