I have been programming for almost 11 yrs (Java,Action Script, PHP, etc...). Are their any plans to include a language reference/documentation for Hero Lab just like all other languages have (Java Docs, PHP.net documentation, Action Script/Flex on Adobe's site, etc...)?
For example: what are all the options I can use with 'Helper'? I have NO clue where ".ExtraHigh" came from (is there an .ExtraLow?, .Extra_whatever, etc...).
I'm not finding the wiki helpful at all and the 'flyout windows' aren't helping either. For example: sure, the bDiety field is there, but it can't be populated cause I get an error (derived fields can't be populated or something like that). It would have been nice to know that you can't do that rather than spend an hour trying to figure out what I was doing wrong.
I also think the documentation assumes the user is familiar with Hero Labs' entire custom scripting library as well as all the terminology surrounding every button, tab, etc... in the editor.
Someone needs to make a book! Sort of like a pocket reference guide ;-)
Don't get me wrong, I love the software, but programming is a pain.
Thanks for any insight/help. Perhaps there IS a guide with all the options and I just can't find it.
Thanks,
-j
