L5R Info Please....

Does anyone have a complete list of the various "teaching sets" that have
been released for L5R? I need this list to finish up the converter and
release the Diamond files. Kuni Tetsu said he'd try to dig up the info but
didn't know it offhand. If anyone has this info available, it would
expedite the process. :-)

Also, I'm still waiting for a definitive answer to a key question I posed
in a previous post. I've carved the passages out and included them below. I
need an answer to this question as well before I can release the Diamond files.

>Prophets
>Winds of Change #121
>While it does have the "Monk" trait, it should not be listed as
>"Brotherhood" faction.

To my understanding, any Personality, Follower, or Holding with the "Monk"
trait is associated with the "Brotherhood" faction. This "implied"
relationship is the basis for assigning the faction. Is this an invalid
interpretation? If not, what is the correct logic to use? If it IS valid,
then please explain what makes this card special and exempt.

>Corrupted Dojo - Winds of Change #21
>Oblivion's Gate - Winds of Change #11
>Wretches - Winds of Change #22
>While they do have the "Shadowlands" trait, they should not have the
>"Shadowlands" faction.

Based on these, does this mean that Holdings are exempt from the "implied"
rule described above? It sounds like it, but please clarify this for me.

Thanks, Rob

Pure checklists for all L5R under (insert divine spirit)'s creation
can be found at Zen Faulke's site.

Battle of Beiden Pass available at http://pages.sbcglobal.
net/sarah-and-zen/l5r/checklists/Battle_of_Beiden_Pass.html

Seige of Sleeping Moutain available at http://pages.sbcglobal.
net/sarah-and-zen/l5r/checklists/Siege_of_Sleeping_Mountain.html

Storms Over Matsu Palace can be extrapolated at http://pages.
sbcglobal.net/sarah-and-zen/l5r/checklists/storms.html That page
probably contains the most useful information out of the bunch.

They are no MRPs that I know of that aren't already in the data files.

If you ever have a question about older L5R, Zen's the man to go to.
He has certainly earned his "Crab Clan Scholar" title.

What do you mean by list here? The existing sets are:

Battle at Beiden Pass
Storms over Matsu Palace
Siege of Sleeping Mountain
L5R Experience

Cardvault has (I think) already card lists for all of them, except
L5RX no?

Rob,

While I'm not a "definitive, final source" kind of guy, I will give
you my interpretation of the rules.

I've been playing since Imperial Edition, when it started. The
rulebook, when talking about Faction Traits only specifically talks
about Personalities. Relevant text would be:

"A personality may be aligned with more than one faction or none at
all. A personality is 'unaligned' if (and only if) it has the
Unaligned trait, even if it has Faction traits."

Upon reading this, I assume they meant for faction traits to only
apply to Personalities.

The traits that you mention (Shadowlands and Monk, as well as Ninja,
Naga, Spirit) exist more for use of the Keyword Rule than they do the
Faction rule.

It's my thought that the Faction rule only applies to Personalities.
If you want I can scan in the pages that talk about Faction traits,
and you can form an opinion yourself.
