Issue purchasing with Custom Cost

Hello;

First time I've run across this and hope there's a fix for it.

I have an investigator with craft alchemy -- so I'm using the alchemy rules for producing items which changes their cost.

At the point I'm re-entering the character, she has over 6,000 gold, but I put in 16g 6s for an item, it tells me I don't have enough silver. I'm figuring a short term fix is to transfer x amount of gold into silver. In the past I have not had to do this it figured the math already. Is this done for a reason or random bug?
