Is there an option?

Hi, I'm new to hero lab, and i'm not sure whether this is an option or not.
Basically, i'm in a campaign where the players have two classes, both at the same level and they both level up at the same time. For example, i'm a Wizard Sorcerer CL: 11, and both classes are level 11 too. If i were to level up to level 12, both classes will go up to level 12.
The problem I have is when I try to make my character in hero lab it'll be default and add both levels together and i'll be CL 20. Is there a way to change this?

Your talking about a type of "Gestalt" character but even better. While it would be possible to accomplish what you ask it would not be even remotely easily to accomplish. It would be basically impossible for anyone new to the HL editor to accomplish.

Sorry to say but when you go that far away from the rules it takes allot of work to make a tool accommodate it.

The best you could do is use the "Other" tab to add a "Hireling" this would allow you to have two characters in the same .por file. Each character could add the levels you wanted keeping values separate. Only thing I can think off.

That's actually really helpful, thank you very much

You could accomplish this in the editor, but it would require a lot of work to accomplish. Gestalt classes are effectively entirely new classes because they take the best option of each class for things. You'd have to commit to one type of spell progression though, technically since Wizard gets the better progression that's where I'd lean, but some players prefer the sorcerer way. Gestalt options would be too time intensive for me to add personally, but others have tried, look around the forums a bit would be my suggestion.

Look who is telling someone that something can't be done in the editor...

No problem glad to help. I need some dedicated time but I have an idea on how to have HL support gestalt characters. Not the archetype method but a real way that would allow any two classes to be used. It's just to make this work requires a deep understanding of the internal workings of HL. Not something a new person to HL or the editor would be able to do. This is not meant as any type of insult to anyone. :) Their is several others on the board here that could also do it if they had a desire to not including Aaron or Mathias who would cheat by changing the structure files. :p

The idea came to me after I created the mythic Playtest package as Mythic Tier's have similarities to Gestalt levels.

Emphasis mine. Really RavenX, you need to get over whatever animosity there is with you and ShadowChemosh, because it's getting really annoying to see you throwing your snide (and misinformed) comments out every time ShadowChemosh tells someone new that the editor isn't easy.

I haven't seen ShadowChemosh EVER tell anyone that something is impossible in the editor. He's told people that it wouldn't be possible for someone completely new, and he's told people that something might be far more difficulty than it's worth. When he's done that, he's usually tried to present a different solution that would be easier (you know, like he did here).

I bet if the OP said "Well, I still wanna do it through the editor," then ShadowChemosh probably would have started pointing them towards resources.

Seriously, I understand if you have some serious reason to dislike ShadowChemosh. I'm not saying don't be angry, don't feel whatever you're feeling, but stop trying to drag the community down into that pit of negativity with you.

Hey all, looks like this question was asked and answered.

However, as this thread has since gone off topic, I'm closing it for review.
