iPad App functionality in the main PC Herolab program??

I've been using the PC version of the main HL program for several years now and am quite pleased with it.
I have an iPad through work and when the HL iPad app was released, I got it and was quite pleased with it. I feel that it is MUCH more practical to use than a PC during tabletop play since it has a smaller footprint AND has some really nice features, like the auto-dice rolling buttons.
We have just gotten Windows Surfaces for ourselves and LOVE them much more than the iPad. However, the message I am getting all over this forum is "don't hold your breath" for a Windows 8 version of the iPad app.
I can easily RDP into my Windows system in the other room, where the main HL program is installed, from my Surface, but it is still the big, bulky main interface.
Has anyone given any thought to having an option in the main app to have the interactive character-sheet view that the iPad has?? It would solve the problem for a lot of us that don't really need it ported to a different device, but would just like to have the same features in the main program as are in the iPad app.

My 2 cents...

Does the iPad app have a Landscape orientation option? I game on a Window 8.1 touchscreen laptop and would probably give this a try, but Portrait orientation would be a little problematic.

On the other hand, with all the good reviews I've seen for the Dell Venue 8 Pro tablet, Lenovo Windows 8 tablets, and the various hybrid designs, it does seem like the full Windows 8 tablet market is gathering steam, so even without touchscreen laptop support it's probably worth considering.

This is a no brainer. Do it.

Do what?

The OP wants the iPad's character sheet view in the regular Hero Lab program. Currently that doesn't exist.

The RDPing he was talking about was to access the main program. But the main program doesn't have the feature he's requesting.

That's why he's requesting the feature, so that people on systems other than iOS can RDP with whatever mobile device they have to their own Windows (or Mac) machines, and have the iOS style functionality.

I +1 this. Even those of us with laptop's, during play an iPad like interface would be much better than the full HL version running...

Yes, it is a general problem with HL for use in-game.

The interface is designed for character building, so I would also +1 for a "Play session" interface for the PC version which gives similar abilities to the iPad version.
