I may be remembering it incorrectly, but I could swear I saw a feature demo'ed at GenCon where the GM can make a in-play list of different combatants in initiative order, using the character portfolios of the party members. Was I imagining it or is it something still being worked on? :?
 
While you may have a wonderful imagination, it was not in use at our booth at Gen Con :D - we are, in fact, working on an expansion for Hero Lab called Campaign R&D which will do all of the things we showed you at Gen Con and much more. The first portion of that expansion will be in an upcoming release (in the next 12-16 weeks), with more features being added into the first half of 2008.
 
Cool...that was one of the selling points that got me to buy HL.

Will the Campaign R&D expansion be an update or a separate program (ie, free download or purchased)?

It'll be a free update to Hero Lab, so it'll be fully integrated with
the current user interface.
